A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, & Merlot ~ grown in our north field above the Tasting Room.  This ‘field blend’ was harvested in October 2011 and the grapes were fermented together from the start, then aged for 23 months in French oak barrels and bottled in September of 2013.  It was a cool, wet year but these varietals maintained their bright crispiness and held onto their acidity.  The results are not dark in color or high in tannins but a very nice earthiness typical of a Bordeaux blend.

Fun Fact: This vintage is part of our famous Linear Tasting Event and used to be named 'Garnet' ~ check our Calendar in Spring of 2021 when we hope to resume these great monthly winery events!

Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc are the three grapes that make up this classic Bordeaux blend. The grapes are harvested and fermented together so this wine is blended immediately from the start!
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs amazingly with the classics: spaghetti bolognese or lasagne and a side of grilled veggies.
